the quality on this his horrible. I had to photograph it because it is a fairly sizeable canvas piece. And at the time, I wasn't very good when it came to understanding lighting and film/digital capture. The pencil was extremely light and I had to apply some contrast filters to bring out the lines.

I started this a few years back and only worked on it until I ran out of the brown prismas I was using to do the colour render. Couldn't get my hands on replacements for a couple of them, so it's been put on the backburner.

Originally it was intended as a birthday present to a co-worker, who I think of as a mother-figure. She is actually into Sante Fe style, so I don't know how much she would've truly liked this.

I don't like the way I drew the horse. I hadn't drawn one since I was maybe 8, so I was extremely rusty. It will be redrawn and probably painted in the future.

The circle is a moon, the backdrop was going to be space probably with constellation charting, and the mane and tail of the horse is to be the colours of fire, like solar flames and sunbursts. I don't work on full pieces very often anymore, but I have high hopes for this one, once I pick it up again.
